ABOUT

Walaa is self taught practice based between Cairo, Egypt and Khartoum, Sudan .She received her Bachelor in Architecture , Fine Arts.

Architecture fascinated her to write and draw using different format to reach valuable meaning that's was anchored in her memory due to her mobility as a child from Saudi Arabia to Egypt and Sudan (home town).

She believes photography tackles the concept of relationships and attachments and places.

Part of her personality grows with her work and made her love writing to serve hidden and authentic emotions, photographs can reval fundemntal truths.

Her work has been published on exhibitions, as well book in Sudan, Egypt, Abu Dhabi, Sudan, Denmark.

Currently studying at the Danish School for Media and Journalism (DMJX) in Arhus, Denmark.

Her work has been exhibited at the American University in Cairo. Memory embodied (Nargis) 2nd place winner of Uganda press photo for stories (UPPA) 2023 on Nargis project also her work has been featured in Cairo scene.
